Description
Exterior
On the outside, the familiar shape of this black 2-door hatchback is spiced out with details such as a chromed grille, racing stripes on the hood, and a roof painted in white. Furthermore, at the front, there’s a pair of fog lights helping boost both visibility and appearance. This is accompanied by white turn indicators all around, a much better option than old-fashioned yellow ones. And at the back, there’s a center-mounded exhaust with a chromed tip.
Lastly, what must be mentioned – are the flared wheel arches, which further accentuate the car’s aggressive appearance. But this modification is not just for the show, as it was necessary so there would be enough room for wide, sporty wheels. And while on the subject of tires, it needs to be mentioned the 13-inch rims on this car are not the stock ones. But the seller says these will be provided, as well.
Interior
Once inside the car, you’ll find yourself behind a typically Mini-angled three-spoke leather steering wheel. Behind it is the instrument cluster with a speedometer ending at 180 km/h and a rev counter that goes up to 8,000 RPM. As expected, the dashboard – which is made from real wood – is sparsely equipped and offers only the essentials. This includes the light switches, vent controls, and a stereo head unit, which, in this case, is an aftermarket Sony device.
The rest of the interior strongly hints at the car’s sport-orientated character, with the front seats being the most compelling. Dressed up in a black leather and gray fabric combo, they will provide sufficient support when negotiating tight bends, where the Mini is at its best. The back seats and the side panel are upholstered in the same style, with a red floor carpet rounding up the eye-catching appearance. Finally, the seller will replace the roof liner before the delivery of the car, as the original one is damaged just above the sunshades (see on the picture).
Mechanics
This Mini Cooper has a 1.3 4-cylinder engine, which drives the front wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission. While the engine’s basic configuration dates back to the ’60s, this particular model is equipped with Rover’s Electronic Fuel Injection, making the car more reliable and pleasant to drive.
In terms of power, the Mini Cooper has only 63 horsepower at its disposal, which may not seem like a lot. But it only has to deal with 685 kilograms, which is how much this car weighs. All in all, while the Mini probably isn’t blisteringly fast on the straight, it’s incredibly fun through the corners. And that’s one of the things that made it so special and famous in the first place.
Vehicle’s history
Lastly, a few words about the Mini’s current condition, which the seller describes as very good. The car was last serviced in June 2023, when regular maintenance was done and new brakes were fitted. In addition, the whole exhaust, including the catalytic converter, is new. And judging from the photos, the car looks mint, both outside and inside. Furthermore, the professional seller, who is the 5th owner, says the car never had an accident, which can be additionally confirmed by a corresponding CARFAX Vehicle History Report. Last technical inspection has passed and approved on the 6th of October 2023.
