Description
Car History
The automotive world was stunned when Mercedes presented the iconic SLS AMG in 2010. Classic in its approach but utterly modern in its execution, this was a thoroughbred sports car that clearly drew inspiration from the brand’s glorious past and legendary 300 SL Gullwing. Although Mercedes looked at the past when designing it, the company aimed at the future with modern chassis construction, interior features, comfort, and drive train. Under that long hood was a 6.2-liter V8 (code name M156), which delivered 571 naturally-aspirated horsepower sent to the rear wheels over a competent 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The result was a car that looks amazing and is still supercar fast. With 0 to 100 km/h time of just 3.8 seconds and a top speed of well over 310 km/h, you can see why the Mercedes SLS AMG is amongst the fastest cars from its era.
Interestingly, the production run of this incredible machine was relatively short, with the model discontinued in 2014. Some say that Mercedes did this deliberately to ensure the exclusivity and rarity of its finest modern sports car. Those rumors might be true since the company never officially revealed precise production figures. The educated estimate is that around 8,000 coupes were delivered and around 4,000 roadsters. This car is one of those 4,000 examples, making it even more exclusive and mythical.
Interior
Finished in black leather with a leather dashboard, the interior of this SLS AMG Roadster is in perfect condition without any signs of use. The seats and door cards are unmarked; all features work along with the navigation system, premium audio, and heated and electrically controlled sports seats. The convertible roof is in as-new condition and opens and closes perfectly.
Condition
We are always excited to offer vehicles that are in as-new condition, and this 2012 Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster is one of them. With only 19,000 kilometers from new, this vehicle was very scarcely used in the hands of its first and only owner and averaged less than 2000 km per year. It means that it is in top shape mechanically and aesthetically, and it is entirely original from factory. The last major service was performed in 2018, with the brakes overhauled just recently in March 2024. The car was meticulously cared for by a Mercedes dealer.
Exterior And Wheels
With such few kilometers on it and obsessive care, it is no surprise that the bodywork is as-new with no scratches or dings. Finished in a classic Mercedes silver hue (reminiscent of the Silver Arrow racing cars), it looks stunning with a contrasting black interior. The original 19-inch wheels are present, wrapped in Continental ContiSport Contact performance rubber (DOT 2017) with around 50% used.
Documentation
The dealer sells this vehicle on behalf of the original owner, with appropriate documentation, located in Belgium. The CarVertical report is clean, without proof of accidents, accident repairs, ownership, or legal problems. There are records of regular maintenance and receipts.
