Description
Car History
This particular example is the 911 Targa, which was produced in 2004. What makes it unique is that Targa was by far the rarest of all 996’s body styles; only 5,125 cars were delivered with special opening glass roofs and different C-pillars. Finished in a seductive shade of dark blue with a light-colored interior, this 911 Targa was delivered new in Spain and acquired by the current owner in 2023. It is powered by a 3.6-liter, naturally-aspirated flat-six engine, which is water-cooled (one of the controversies of the 996 generations). However, it has a 6-speed manual transmission, which makes it even rarer and a must-have for any collector of specific 911 models. With 320 hp and a lightweight body, this 911 Targa is ready to jump to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 5.2 seconds and top 285 km/h (177 mph). Interestingly, the manual-equipped version of this model is significantly quicker than the automatic one, which makes this car even more desirable. The fact that it has all the perks of a convertible, excellent visibility, and an open-air feel with the practicality and comfort of a coupe transforms this blue 911 Targa into a very versatile driver’s machine with an all-important flat-six soundtrack and manual transmission.
Interior
Since this is a low-mileage example, the interior is in immaculate shape, totally original, and with desirable options. Finished in Savannah gray color, it has an infotainment system, premium audio with 6 CD chargers (period correct), leather, and electronically controllable seats. The Porsche interior quality is well-known throughout the industry, and this 2004 911 Targa is no different. The leather is in perfect condition; there are no scratches on the dash, door cards, or central console. There are also usable rear seats, which are ideal for children.
Condition
With just 39,037 kilometers from the new, this 911 Targa is in immaculate condition and carefully looked after by all of its users. The vehicle was obviously scarcely used and well-maintained, as the records show. The current owner is a dealership in Spain, and the latest service was performed in April of 2023, with the brakes being overhauled just a few days ago in October of 2023. The underside of Porsches are made of aluminium, so it can’t rust. However, as you can see on the last pictures of the underside, there is some dry dirt that the seller will clean for the buyer when auction is ended. The car is ready to be driven anywhere and is probably one of the finest examples of manual-equipped 911 996 Targa you will ever have a chance of finding.
Exterior and Wheels
With an unmarked body finished in midnight blue and a gray interior, this 911 Targa is a gorgeous-looking machine without any scratches, damages, or dings. The rolling stock consists of 18-inch factory-provided wheels wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza performance rubber. The tires are from 2020 and have covered very few miles. There are no modifications, and this 996 Targa is in as-delivered condition.
Documentation
This vehicle is sold by the dealer with appropriate documentation, and it is located in Spain. The CarFax report is clean; no proof of accidents, accident repairs, ownership, or legal problems exist. There are records of regular maintenance along with original factory brochures and receipts.
