Med andra ord var bilarna de tillverkade helt enkelt hemska och d\u00e5ligt tillverkade. Andra har d\u00f6mts till d\u00f6den p\u00e5 grund av en kombination av otur och d\u00e5liga aff\u00e4rsbeslut. Det betyder dock inte att alla bilar som tillverkades av de numera ok\u00e4nda brittiska biltillverkarna inte var bra. Vissa av dem var faktiskt riktigt bra och har mycket att erbjuda \u00e4ven i dag. En av dem \u00e4r utan tvekan den ber\u00f6mda Triumph TR3 roadstern, s\u00e4rskilt n\u00e4r den \u00e4r i sin f\u00f6r\u00e4dlade TR3A-form. Det h\u00e4r \u00e4r en av de bilar som \u00e4r en f\u00f6rkroppsligande av elegant sk\u00f6nhet och ren k\u00f6rgl\u00e4dje.<\/p>\n<h2>Historien bakom Triumph TR3A<\/h2>\n<p>Triumph \u00e4r ett av de \u00e4ldsta namnen i branschen och har r\u00f6tter som g\u00e5r tillbaka till 1800-talet.  <strong>Till en b\u00f6rjan tillverkade de dock bara cyklar, och den f\u00f6rsta bilen l\u00e4mnade fabriken p\u00e5 1920-talet.<\/strong>  Sedan dess har deras fordon f\u00e5tt ber\u00f6m av b\u00e5de f\u00f6rare och experter p\u00e5 bilar. Detta berodde p\u00e5 deras blandning av attraktivt utseende, praktisk anv\u00e4ndbarhet i vardagen och konkurrenskraftiga prestanda till ett \u00f6verkomligt pris.  <\/p>\n<p>Triumph tillverkade m\u00e5nga roliga sedans och kup\u00e9er genom \u00e5ren, till exempel Dolomite och Herald, men det \u00e4r deras roadsters som de \u00e4r mest k\u00e4nda f\u00f6r. <strong>Till att b\u00f6rja med finns den legendariska Spitfire, en bil som inte beh\u00f6ver n\u00e5gon st\u00f6rre presentation<\/strong>. Sedan finns det en l\u00e5ngvarig TR-serie, vars produktion str\u00e4ckte sig \u00f6ver tre decennier och sex bilgenerationer. Allt b\u00f6rjade med TR2, som introducerades 1953 och blev en omedelbar succ\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Efter att ha insett potentialen kom Triumph med sin efterf\u00f6ljare, TR3, bara tv\u00e5 \u00e5r senare.  <strong>Den nya bilen inneh\u00f6ll m\u00e5nga f\u00f6rb\u00e4ttringar f\u00f6r att komma till r\u00e4tta med bristerna i den utg\u00e5ende modellen.<\/strong>  Det innebar bland annat effektivare bromsar och uppgraderad fj\u00e4dring, vilket gav en \u00e4nnu b\u00e4ttre k\u00f6rupplevelse. Den f\u00f6rsta TR3:an s\u00e5lde bra, men efter n\u00e5gra \u00e5r blev det uppenbart att dess stil b\u00f6rjade bli lite f\u00f6r\u00e5ldrad. \u00c5terigen beslutade Triumph att l\u00f6sa problemet genom att lansera en uppdaterad modell, som inofficiellt blev k\u00e4nd som TR3A.  <\/p>\n<h2>Hur ser Triumph TR3A ut?<\/h2>\n<p>Den nyligen omdesignade TR3A var, precis som den TR3 som den ersatte, en tv\u00e5d\u00f6rrars sportbil med \u00f6ppen topp. P\u00e5 m\u00e5nga s\u00e4tt hade de tv\u00e5 bilarna liknande, om inte identiska, karosslinjer, silhuetter och karakteristiskt formade d\u00f6rrar. <strong>Det som skiljer dem \u00e5t \u00e4r dock fronten, d\u00e4r TR3A har en ansiktslyftning i dess r\u00e4tta bem\u00e4rkelse<\/strong>. Detta gjordes genom att installera en mycket bredare kylargrill och genom att omarbeta det omgivande karosseriet f\u00f6r att matcha den. Resultatet blev en mer aggressiv front och d\u00e4rmed en imponerande n\u00e4rvaro p\u00e5 v\u00e4garna, vilket kunderna uppskattade. Ett alternativ till denna l\u00f6sning, som var tidskr\u00e4vande att installera, var en konvertibel motorhuv eller ett h\u00e5rdtak av st\u00e5l, som b\u00e5da var ett alternativ. Det fanns dock en funktion som kallades &#8220;occasional rear seat&#8221;, som kunde rymma en tredje passagerare. Detta \u00e4r i praktiken en b\u00e4nk bakom frams\u00e4tena men utan benutrymme framf\u00f6r den. Ist\u00e4llet sitter personen i sidled, d\u00e4rav namnet <em>occasional<\/em>.  <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h2>Triumph TR3A:s mekaniska underlag<\/h2>\n<p>Liksom de f\u00f6reg\u00e5ende modellerna anv\u00e4nde TR3A en fyrcylindrig motor tillverkad av Standard, det f\u00f6retag som d\u00e5 \u00e4gde Triumph.  <strong>Dessa motorer var robusta och kraftfulla tack vare sin gjutj\u00e4rnskonstruktion, utbytbara v\u00e5tfoder och OHV-huvudkonfiguration.<\/strong>  Den tillverkades i m\u00e5nga varianter beroende p\u00e5 anv\u00e4ndningsomr\u00e5de, d\u00e4r TR3A hade en 2-liters enhet som producerade 100 h\u00e4stkrafter. Motorn var kopplad till en 4-v\u00e4xlad manuell v\u00e4xell\u00e5da, med en elaktiverad \u00f6verv\u00e4xel som tillval. Till att b\u00f6rja med finns det en oberoende framhjulsupph\u00e4ngning med dubbla wishbones och spiralfj\u00e4drar.  <strong>Och \u00e4ven om bakdelen \u00e4r mer konventionell, med en traditionell levande axel och bladfj\u00e4drar, var axeln monterad ovanf\u00f6r ramen.<\/strong>  Denna ovanliga konfiguration s\u00e4nkte tyngdpunkten och bidrog till att f\u00f6rb\u00e4ttra stabiliteten bak\u00e5t. Slutligen fanns det bromsar, som hade skivor och bromsar framtill i st\u00e4llet f\u00f6r trummor. TR3 var faktiskt den f\u00f6rsta produktionsbilen som anv\u00e4nde denna teknik.<\/p>\n<p>Allt detta, tillsammans med 15-tums hjul och korslagda d\u00e4ck fr\u00e5n Pirelli, innebar tv\u00e5 saker. F\u00f6r det f\u00f6rsta kan f\u00f6raren bromsa mycket senare n\u00e4r han kommer in i ett h\u00f6rn, tack vare revolution\u00e4ra bromsar. <strong>Och den responsiva fj\u00e4dringen skulle g\u00f6ra det m\u00f6jligt f\u00f6r bilen att h\u00e5lla h\u00f6gre hastighet n\u00e4r den k\u00f6r igenom<\/strong> kurvan. Triumph TR3A var d\u00e4rf\u00f6r lika snabb som kraftfullare bilar p\u00e5 banan eller p\u00e5 slingrande landsv\u00e4gar. Detta \u00e4r en av anledningarna till att dessa bilar \u00e4r en vanlig syn i olika historiska t\u00e4vlingsevenemang \u00e4n idag.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h2>Triumph TR3 och anpassning<\/h2>\n<p>En sak som bidrog enormt till att \u00f6ka populariteten f\u00f6r TR3 och andra Triumph roadsters vid den h\u00e4r tiden var de m\u00f6jligheter till anpassning som de erbj\u00f6ds. Och detta var n\u00e5got d\u00e4r de lokala \u00e5terf\u00f6rs\u00e4ljarna hade en mer inflytelserik roll \u00e4n tillverkaren. <strong>Tack vare den direkta kontakten med potentiella k\u00f6pare kunde de tydligare k\u00e4nna igen deras behov och preferenser<\/strong>. Och eftersom Triumph gav dem mycket frihet kunde dessa sm\u00e5f\u00f6retagare hitta p\u00e5 s\u00e4tt att tillgodose k\u00f6parnas individuella behov.
