Biltillverkare experimenterar med olika former och l\u00f6sningar f\u00f6r att g\u00f6ra sina modeller mer innovativa, praktiska eller snyggare.  <strong>Det finns dock n\u00e5gra undantag fr\u00e5n denna vanliga praxis.<\/strong>  Ett s\u00e5dant exempel \u00e4r Porsche, vars 911-serie inte har f\u00f6r\u00e4ndrats s\u00e4rskilt mycket genom \u00e5ren. Ibland \u00e4r det n\u00e4stan om\u00f6jligt att se skillnaden mellan olika generationer av en bil. Men det \u00e4r ingenting j\u00e4mf\u00f6rt med Morgan, som har tillverkat praktiskt taget identiska bilar i \u00e5rtionden. Detta har dock inte hindrat den brittiska tillverkaren fr\u00e5n att bli en billegend med ett starkt rykte. En av deras mest k\u00e4nda modeller med den l\u00e4ngsta tillverkningstiden \u00e4r Morgan +4. Den gjordes inte bara under tv\u00e5 decennier, utan \u00e5teruppstod ocks\u00e5 vid tv\u00e5 olika tillf\u00e4llen efter\u00e5t. Och till r\u00e5ga p\u00e5 allt har Morgan nyligen tillverkat en hyllningsmodell med ett n\u00e4stan identiskt namn och motsvarande design.<\/p>\n<h2>Morgan-bilar f\u00f6re +4-modellen<\/h2>\n<p>Sedan starten 1910 har Morgan varit allt annat \u00e4n en konventionell biltillverkare. Faktum \u00e4r att de flesta modeller som tillverkas av den Malvern-baserade tillverkaren skiljer sig s\u00e5 mycket fr\u00e5n de andra att de har f\u00e5tt en plats i historieb\u00f6ckerna. <strong>Under en tid anv\u00e4nde deras bilar tv\u00e5cylindriga motorer fr\u00e5n en motorcykel och hade bara ett hjul baktill<\/strong>. \u00c4ven om detta arrangemang kan verka konstigt eller till och med besv\u00e4rligt hade dessa fordon en hel del fans och s\u00e5lde bra. Detta berodde p\u00e5 att de erbj\u00f6d motorcykelns smidighet och bilens komfort.<\/p>\n<p>Men s\u00e5 sm\u00e5ningom best\u00e4mde sig Morgan f\u00f6r att prova en mer konventionell bilkonfiguration, vilket resulterade i 4\/4-modellen. Bokst\u00e4verna representerade den fyrcylindriga motorn och lika m\u00e5nga hjul som bilen hade.<strong> \u00c4nd\u00e5 fanns alla viktiga ingredienser d\u00e4r &#8211; l\u00e4ttviktskonstruktion, handgjord kaross och sportigt beteende<\/strong>. Och de h\u00e4r var uppenbarligen perfekt uppr\u00f6rda, eftersom den h\u00e4r modellen tillverkades fr\u00e5n 30-talet fram till nyligen. 4\/4 var ocks\u00e5 en b\u00f6rjan f\u00f6r Morgans igenk\u00e4nnbara formspr\u00e5k, som f\u00f6rblev praktiskt taget of\u00f6r\u00e4ndrat sedan dess. Den nya bilen var dock l\u00e4ngre och bredare, vilket gjorde interi\u00f6ren rymligare. Den fanns med tv\u00e5 eller fyra platser, antingen som cabriolet eller coupe. <strong>Och med en 2,1 liters fyrcylindrig motor som l\u00e5nats fr\u00e5n en Standard Vanguard var den ocks\u00e5 kraftfullare<\/strong>. Dessutom var +4 Morgans f\u00f6rsta bil med hydrauliska bromsar, vilket gav mycket b\u00e4ttre stoppf\u00f6rm\u00e5ga. Trots detta var bilen snabb och sp\u00e4nnande att k\u00f6ra. Den mest anm\u00e4rkningsv\u00e4rda t\u00e4vlingssegern var 1962 i Le Mans 24-timmars.<\/p>\n<h2>Morgan +4 och dess tr\u00e4chassi<\/h2>\n<p>Det \u00e4r v\u00e4lk\u00e4nt att alla klassiska Morgans har chassin av tr\u00e4. Mer specifikt anv\u00e4nds en s\u00e4rskild sorts virke f\u00f6r detta \u00e4ndam\u00e5l. <strong>Denna konfiguration ger tydligen bilen en unik balans mellan v\u00e4gh\u00e5llning och k\u00f6rkomfort<\/strong>. Men \u00e4ven om det kan l\u00e5ta roligt eller nyskapande \u00e4r det faktiskt inte sant. Det <strong>enda som var gjort av tr\u00e4 var karossramen som satt ovanp\u00e5<\/strong>. Detta \u00e4r i princip en modern tolkning av den traditionella tekniken f\u00f6r att bygga vagnar som anv\u00e4nds f\u00f6r att tillverka h\u00e4stvagnar. Den enda verkliga skillnaden var att st\u00e5lplattor anv\u00e4ndes som ytterh\u00f6lje i st\u00e4llet f\u00f6r tr\u00e4faner.<\/p>\n<p>Denna ovanliga kroppsbyggnadsteknik hade flera f\u00f6rdelar. Till att b\u00f6rja med var det en v\u00e4l bepr\u00f6vad teknik vid den h\u00e4r tiden, v\u00e4l beh\u00e4rskad av karossbyggarna.  <strong>Dessutom eliminerade den behovet av dyra och komplicerade metallbearbetningsmaskiner, vilket s\u00e4nkte produktionskostnaderna.<\/strong>  \u00c4ven detta var oerh\u00f6rt viktigt f\u00f6r en sm\u00e5skalig tillverkare som Morgan. Och slutligen fanns det en viss sanning i den tidigare n\u00e4mnda myten.<\/p>\n<h2>Morgan +4:s \u00e5teruppr\u00e4ttelser<\/h2>\n<p>Morgan +4 tillverkades i n\u00e4stan tv\u00e5 decennier, fram till 1969, d\u00e5 den ersattes av en Plus 8. Men p\u00e5 80-talet m\u00e4rkte tillverkaren att det fanns ett tomrum i sitt sortiment och beslutade att \u00e5teruppliva den ber\u00f6mda +4-modellen. Den <strong>nyf\u00f6dda bilen var visuellt identisk med den fr\u00e5n 60-talet, med endast minimala designf\u00f6r\u00e4ndringar d\u00e4remellan<\/strong>. De tv\u00e5 bilarna skiljde sig dock \u00e5t p\u00e5 det mekaniska underlaget, d\u00e4r motorn var den mest anm\u00e4rkningsv\u00e4rda. Under de f\u00f6rsta \u00e5ren anv\u00e4nde den nya Morgan +4 en modern fyrcylindrig motor fr\u00e5n Fiat med tillh\u00f6rande v\u00e4xell\u00e5da. F\u00f6r detta tillf\u00e4lle utrustade de den med Fords motor, vars prestanda och tillf\u00f6rlitlighet har bevisats i m\u00e5nga bilar v\u00e4rlden \u00f6ver. Det \u00e4r <strong>uppenbart att en sm\u00e5skalig tillverkare som Morgan aldrig skulle b\u00f6rja utveckla drivlinjekomponenter p\u00e5 egen hand, eftersom det skulle vara ekonomiskt ogenomf\u00f6rbart<\/strong>. En kropp med en tr\u00e4ram \u00e4r inte lika styv som en st\u00e5lram och kommer att b\u00f6ja sig vid extrema belastningar. Detta \u00f6kar f\u00f6ljaktligen k\u00f6rkomforten samtidigt som chassit och fj\u00e4dringen kan vara fasta p\u00e5 marken.<\/p>\n<h2>Den helt nya Morgan Plus Four<\/h2>\n<p>Efter att ha tillverkat samma bil i n\u00e4stan of\u00f6r\u00e4ndrad form i n\u00e4stan 70 \u00e5r beslutade Morgan nyligen att det var dags f\u00f6r en ny design. Den <strong>nya modellen, som avsl\u00f6jas 2020, har omdesignats och konstruerats om fr\u00e5n grunden<\/strong>. Men trots att det var ett renodlat jobb f\u00f6rblev den h\u00e4r bilen, som nu kallas Plus Four, trogen fabrikens karakt\u00e4ristiska stil. Morgan har i princip omformat den ursprungliga +4:an tillr\u00e4ckligt f\u00f6r att den ska se modern och elegant ut.
