Det \u00e4r <b>dock inte m\u00e5nga som vet att Spitfire hade en st\u00f6rre coup\u00e9bror med en sexcylindrig motor och en kaross som formades under 24 timmars Le Mans<\/b>. \u00c4ven om den \u00e4r lite bortgl\u00f6md av vanliga samlare, har Triumph GT6 en elegant, halsbrytande straight-six-motor och en l\u00e4ttviktskropp som lovar en of\u00f6rgl\u00f6mlig k\u00f6rupplevelse. H\u00e4r \u00e4r varf\u00f6r denna snygga coup\u00e9 borde vara mer k\u00e4nd och varf\u00f6r priserna \u00f6kar stadigt.  <\/p>\n<p>Triumph Motor Company var ett av de mest k\u00e4nda brittiska m\u00e4rkena p\u00e5 60-talet, med ett sortiment av flera roadstermodeller och sportiga tv\u00e5- och fyrad\u00f6rrars sedans. 1962 lanserade Triumph Spitfire, en elegant tv\u00e5d\u00f6rrars roadster som tillverkades i n\u00e4stan 20 \u00e5r och som definierade sitt segment genom att s\u00e4ljas i stora m\u00e4ngder p\u00e5 b\u00e5da sidor av havet.  <b>Spitfire hade en enkel men effektiv konstruktion och visade sig vara en bra grund f\u00f6r en t\u00e4vlingsbil<\/b>. Men omedelbart efter introduktionen beslutade Triumphs produktplanerare att kup\u00e9n skulle vara ett utm\u00e4rkt till\u00e4gg till sortimentet. Samtidigt startade f\u00f6retaget ett t\u00e4vlingsprogram med modifierade Spitfires med en fastback-topp kallad GT4. Triumphs ingenj\u00f6rer ins\u00e5g dock att kup\u00e9karossen var tyngre \u00e4n roadsterkarossen och att den nya modellen skulle beh\u00f6va en kraftfullare motor. Triumph GT6 betonade den vuxna karakt\u00e4ren, Gran Turismo-funktionerna och den sexcylindriga motorn, som var det st\u00f6rsta f\u00f6rs\u00e4ljningsargumentet. Med 95 hk och en kaross som v\u00e4gde 850 kg var GT6 tillr\u00e4ckligt dynamisk f\u00f6r att f\u00e5nga k\u00f6parnas och motorpressens uppm\u00e4rksamhet.  <b>GT6 var dyrare \u00e4n Spitfire, men den var ocks\u00e5 lyxigare, rymligare och snabbare, vilket motiverade priset.  <\/b>Triumphs marknadsavdelning anv\u00e4nde Le Mans-succ\u00e9n f\u00f6r att marknadsf\u00f6ra sin prestanda; \u00e4ven om GT6 inte hade n\u00e5got att g\u00f6ra med GT4-racingprogrammet fungerade stuntet. De fick till och med ett halvofficiellt smeknamn, &#8220;Poor man&#8217;s E-Type&#8221;, som ocks\u00e5 fastnade av uppenbara sk\u00e4l. B\u00e5da bilarna var brittiska, hade liknande proportioner och var konstruerade och drevs av sexcylindriga motorer. Naturligtvis var E-Type snabbare, men med en 0 till 60-tid p\u00e5 drygt 10 sekunder ans\u00e5gs GT6 Mk1 vara dynamisk enligt den tidens normer. Bilpressen kritiserade dock den sv\u00e4ngda axeln som l\u00e5nats fr\u00e5n Spitfire. F\u00f6retaget tog itu med kritiken mot hanteringen med den kraftigt reviderade bakre fj\u00e4dringen, som gav mycket b\u00e4ttre kontroll och slutligen gav GT6 den stabilitet den beh\u00f6vde f\u00f6r att vara konkurrenskraftig. <b>Designen f\u00f6rb\u00e4ttrades med en ny fram- och bakdel, olika st\u00f6tf\u00e5ngare och detaljer som liknar Spitfire<\/b>. Ingenj\u00f6rerna gl\u00f6mde dock inte bort motorn. Med nya kamaxlar, ett nytt cylinderhuvud och ett intag levererade den sexcylindriga bilen 104 hk. Inte mycket, men det f\u00f6rb\u00e4ttrade prestandan och till och med br\u00e4nsleekonomin. Efter utvecklingen av Spitfire-designen fick GT6 en modernare st\u00f6tf\u00e5ngare, bakljus, inredningsdetaljer och till och med en justering av den bakre fj\u00e4dringen. Effekten l\u00e5g p\u00e5 samma niv\u00e5, men GT6 Mk III hade h\u00f6gre toppfart tack vare f\u00f6rb\u00e4ttrad aerodynamik. Trots att Triumph blev allt mer kompetent och mogen besl\u00f6t man att avveckla denna modell 1973. Spitfire som hade 18 \u00e5r), tillverkade Triumph \u00f6ver 41 000 bilar i tre olika serier.  <b>Triumph koncentrerade sig p\u00e5 Amerika, som var dess st\u00f6rsta exportmarknad, och k\u00e4mpade st\u00e4ndigt mot MG B GT, som s\u00e5lde b\u00e4ttre och som \u00e4ven fanns med en V8-motor i senare versioner, men \u00e4ven mot m\u00e5nga andra modeller.<\/b>  Det tidiga 70-talet var en bra tid D\u00e4rf\u00f6r fick den en mycket speciell hyllning 2007 i form av BMW Z4 Coupe (E86).  <b>N\u00e4r BMW k\u00f6pte Rover 1994 k\u00f6pte f\u00f6retaget ocks\u00e5 flera nedlagda varum\u00e4rken fr\u00e5n British Leyland, d\u00e4ribland Triumph.
