Alguns podem dizer-lhe que o final dos anos 60 era a era definitiva, com o glorioso Lamborghini Miura a definir os padr\u00f5es do segmento.  <strong>Outros podem sugerir que os tempos modernos s\u00e3o o auge da classe supercarro com Um Porsche 918 incrivelmente r\u00e1pido e avan\u00e7ado ou Ferrari LaFerrari.<\/strong>  No entanto, nenhum dos dois tem raz\u00e3o. A idade de ouro dos supercarros era em meados dos anos 90. Foi ent\u00e3o que a abordagem anal\u00f3gica e as t\u00e9cnicas feitas \u00e0 m\u00e3o conheceram a tecnologia moderna, resultando em carros incr\u00edveis, lend\u00e1rias vit\u00f3rias em corridas, e caracter\u00edsticas nunca antes (ou desde ent\u00e3o) vistas na produ\u00e7\u00e3o de ve\u00edculos rodovi\u00e1rios. Que carro pode descrever melhor esta era curta mas memor\u00e1vel? O irrepet\u00edvel McLaren F1, claro.<\/p><p>A hist\u00f3ria sobre a McLaren F1 deve ser iniciada com uma explica\u00e7\u00e3o b\u00e1sica do que \u00e9 a F1. Sim, \u00e9 um supercarro, mas \u00e9 muito mais do que apenas um ve\u00edculo extremamente r\u00e1pido e capaz. O McLaren F1 \u00e9 a materializa\u00e7\u00e3o da ideia de velocidade e de atingir os limites do que era poss\u00edvel na altura.  <strong>\u00c9 o carro &#8220;sem custos&#8221; cujo \u00fanico prop\u00f3sito \u00e9 ser a m\u00e1quina de condu\u00e7\u00e3o final (trocadilho pretendido) e o ve\u00edculo superlativo em praticamente qualquer sentido da palavra.<\/strong>  A F1 era como o Cometa haley, o carro t\u00e3o especial e \u00fanico que s\u00f3 apareceu uma vez na vida sem antecessor e sem sucessor planeado. A forma como foi projetado e fabricado ainda \u00e9 impressionante e \u00fanico no mundo autom\u00f3vel. Murray achou que toda aquela experi\u00eancia de corrida e know-how deveria ser transformada num grande carro de estrada, que seria o auge da engenharia autom\u00f3vel. Usando a sua experi\u00eancia de F\u00f3rmula 1, decidiu que a fibra de carbono seria a melhor escolha para o chassis e o corpo, fazendo do F1 o primeiro ve\u00edculo de produ\u00e7\u00e3o com chassis monocoque de fibra de carbono. Al\u00e9m da fibra de carbono, a McLaren usou magn\u00e9sio e alum\u00ednio para construir o chassis e componentes de suspens\u00e3o e desenvolver as suas pr\u00f3prias ligas, que eram mais leves mas r\u00edgidas do que as que estavam comercialmente dispon\u00edveis na \u00e9poca.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-ec72f76 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"ec72f76\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-a2d9760\" data-id=\"a2d9760\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c867b90 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"c867b90\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>A pr\u00f3xima pe\u00e7a do puzzle foi o motor, e depois de negocia\u00e7\u00f5es falhadas com a Honda, Murray virou-se para a BMW. Trabalhando de perto com o lend\u00e1rio engenheiro da BMW Paul Roche, a McLaren conseguiu obter um motor S70\/2 V12 de 6,1 litros, uma variante especial e melhorada da famosa unidade V12 da BMW. O motor era tudo-all-all com tempo de v\u00e1lvula vari\u00e1vel (uma novidade no in\u00edcio dos anos 90) e lubrifica\u00e7\u00e3o de sump seco estilo corrida. O S70\/2 foi, naturalmente, constru\u00eddo \u00e0 m\u00e3o pela divis\u00e3o M Performance e apresentava numerosas engenhocas mec\u00e2nicas \u00fanicas como dois injetores por cilindro e uma bobina de igni\u00e7\u00e3o separada para cada cilindro, entre outras coisas. O resultado foi de 618 cv e 479 lb-ft (650 Nm) de bin\u00e1rio que para o in\u00edcio dos anos 90 foram n\u00fameros surpreendentes.  <strong>No entanto, o detalhe mais fixe sobre o motor foi o facto de o compartimento do motor estar coberto de folha de ouro!<\/strong>  O ouro n\u00e3o era um detalhe de luxo para chamar a aten\u00e7\u00e3o dos compradores de carros ricos, mas uma necessidade devido \u00e0 sua capacidade de isolamento t\u00e9rmico. No entanto, apesar de lhe ter sido dada toda a liberdade para criar a forma que queria, uma caracter\u00edstica emocionante deve ser inclu\u00edda &#8211; um layout incomum de tr\u00eas lugares. Gordon Murray ficou fascinado com este conceito e insistiu que este fosse inclu\u00eddo na F1, por isso Stevens criou um visual eterno com caracter\u00edsticas caracter\u00edsticas de supercarros como silhueta baixa, forma aerodin\u00e2mica, portas de borboletas e posi\u00e7\u00e3o de condu\u00e7\u00e3o central com um assento de passageiro em cada lado.
