Significava que o ambicioso plano da empresa precisava de ser apoiado com design \u00fanico e tecnologia inovadora. Naquela \u00e9poca, os italianos dominavam o design do carro, e os chefes da Aston simplesmente encontraram um parceiro infame Carrozzeria Touring em Mil\u00e3o, que articulava perfeitamente o design do novo modelo. A suspens\u00e3o dianteira era independente, mas havia um eixo vivo na parte de tr\u00e1s, uma solu\u00e7\u00e3o de engenharia comum no final dos anos 50.  <strong>Curiosamente, havia trav\u00f5es de disco assistidos por todo o lado, o que foi revolucion\u00e1rio para o per\u00edodo.<\/strong>  \u00c9 claro que um layout de pensamento futuro merecia um motor igualmente inovador. O engenheiro polaco Tadek Marek conseguiu entregar uma nova unidade de seis cilindros, com dois eixos de duas pontas de c\u00e2mara. Foi o ep\u00edtome de uma m\u00e1quina de Gran Turismo inglesa puro-sangue com linhas modernas mas contidas, desportivas e elegantes. <strong>O nome DB4 designou a partida das s\u00e9ries DB2 e DB Mark III, bem como um passo do carro de corrida DB3 R<\/strong>. Com um pre\u00e7o base de pouco menos de 4.000 libras, o novo DB4 foi exatamente oito vezes mais caro do que o primeiro Morris Mini, introduzido um ano depois, em 1959. No entanto, os clientes ricos mostraram interesse, e a Aston foi trocada com encomendas.<\/p><p>O novo Aston Martin DB4 revelou-se um carro bastante din\u00e2mico.  <strong>Com 240 cv em toque nos modelos iniciais, o tempo de 0 a 100 km\/h foi alcan\u00e7\u00e1vel em pouco mais de 9 segundos, e a velocidade m\u00e1xima foi de cerca de 240 km\/h &#8211; n\u00fameros bastante altos por padr\u00f5es de final de 50.<\/strong>  Curiosamente, a Aston ofereceu v\u00e1rios r\u00e1cios diferenciais aos seus clientes. No total, o DB4 GT pesava cerca de 60 quilogramas a menos do que o DB4 padr\u00e3o. No entanto, a mudan\u00e7a mais significativa foi sob o capot. Os seis 3,7 litros retos receberam cabe\u00e7as de cilindro novas com duas velas de igni\u00e7\u00e3o por cilindro, maior compress\u00e3o e uma v\u00e1lvula revista, que ajudou a DB4 GT a produzir 302 cv e a melhorar significativamente o desempenho.
