Concebido para estar igualmente em casa na pista de corrida e na Autostrada, o SWB de 250 GT combinou perfeitamente a narrativa da marca, o design deslumbrante, e o fant\u00e1stico rugido do motor V12 de 3,0 litros de ep\u00f3nimo de Colombo.<\/p>\n<p>No final dos anos 50, a Ferrari era uma marca reconhecida de supercarros com duas linhas de modelos distintos. Uma era de m\u00e1quinas de corrida que dominavam os campeonatos de Le Mans e F\u00f3rmula 1, e a outra era de coup\u00e9 GT e descapot\u00e1veis concebidos para clientes ricos.  <strong>N\u00e3o era segredo que Enzo Ferrari estava ansioso por correr em todas as s\u00e9ries que podia, e quando se apercebeu que alguns dos seus clientes queriam um carro de corrida de estrada legal, ficou mais do que entusiasmado em fornec\u00ea-lo para eles.<\/strong>  Naqueles dias, as corridas GT come\u00e7aram a emergir como um dos campeonatos mais emocionantes, que inclu\u00eda carros desportivos de marcas como Maserati, Jaguar, e Aston Martin. Evidentemente, Enzo quis participar na ac\u00e7\u00e3o e deu aos seus engenheiros a tarefa de transformar o modelo padr\u00e3o de 250 GT numa besta de corrida. Bizzarinni e os seus companheiros perceberam que o chassis de stock \u00e9 demasiado longo para um carro de corrida \u00e1gil e que era necess\u00e1ria uma carro\u00e7aria leve a fim de manter o peso baixo e melhorar o desempenho.  <strong>Assim, encurtaram a planta do coup\u00e9 de 250 GT em 20 cm, reduzindo a dist\u00e2ncia entre eixos de 2600 mm para 2400 mm<\/strong>. Foi um passo dr\u00e1stico, mas deu dividendos uma vez que o novo modelo n\u00e3o s\u00f3 era mais \u00e1gil e compacto como tamb\u00e9m mais leve e mais est\u00e1vel. A utiliza\u00e7\u00e3o de pain\u00e9is de alum\u00ednio foi o passo seguinte, e embora tenha aumentado o pre\u00e7o, manteve o peso total do carro um pouco abaixo dos 960 kg, o que ajudou ao desempenho. Os jovens engenheiros da Ferrari sabiam que os carros de corrida precisavam de ajustes de suspens\u00e3o para serem competitivos e manuseados adequadamente. <strong>Os modelos da s\u00e9rie 250 utilizavam todos o eixo traseiro vivo com molas foliares, design primitivo mas eficaz<\/strong>. Enzo n\u00e3o estava disposto a investir na configura\u00e7\u00e3o independente, o que sem d\u00favida melhoraria as capacidades de curva, pelo que a equipa precisava de modificar o layout existente para dar ao carro um melhor manuseamento. No entanto, este modelo tornou-se muito mais famoso pelo seu moniker SWB, o que significa &#8220;dist\u00e2ncia entre eixos curta&#8221;. Por um lado, tinha um interior utiliz\u00e1vel, din\u00e2mica de condu\u00e7\u00e3o que permitia ao propriet\u00e1rio utiliz\u00e1-lo diariamente, e um desempenho abord\u00e1vel, aliado a uma sublime fixa\u00e7\u00e3o e travagem. Por <strong>outro lado, 250 GT SWB podiam ser utilizados na pista com modifica\u00e7\u00f5es m\u00ednimas, o que a maioria dos seus propriet\u00e1rios fez<\/strong>. Era um carro que podia ser conduzido at\u00e9 \u00e0 pista, equipado com velas de igni\u00e7\u00e3o e pneus de corrida especiais, e ser capaz de vencer a corrida. Tal dupla personalidade raramente era vista naqueles dias, e esta era precisamente a caracter\u00edstica que a tornou t\u00e3o famosa e procurada muito depois do fim da sua produ\u00e7\u00e3o. Curiosamente, embora a constru\u00e7\u00e3o e o design tenham sofrido as maiores altera\u00e7\u00f5es, o conhecido Colombo V12 de 3,0 litros n\u00e3o foi assim t\u00e3o modificado.
