Apesar de ser um pouco esquecido pelos coleccionadores habituais, o Triumph GT6 exala um motor elegante de seis motores de garganta direita, e uma carro\u00e7aria leve, prometendo uma experi\u00eancia de condu\u00e7\u00e3o inesquec\u00edvel. Eis porque \u00e9 que este coup\u00e9 de grande aspecto deveria ser mais conhecido e porque \u00e9 que os seus pre\u00e7os est\u00e3o em constante crescimento.  <\/p>\n<p>A Triumph Motor Company foi uma das marcas brit\u00e2nicas de desempenho mais conhecidas nos anos 60, com um alinhamento de v\u00e1rios modelos de roadsters e sedans desportivos de duas e quatro portas. Em 1962, Triumph introduziu o Spitfire, um elegante roadster de duas portas que permaneceu em produ\u00e7\u00e3o durante quase 20 anos e definiu o seu segmento, vendendo em grande n\u00famero e em ambos os lados do oceano.  <b>O Spitfire teve uma constru\u00e7\u00e3o simples mas eficaz e provou ser uma base s\u00f3lida para um carro de corrida<\/b>. No entanto, imediatamente ap\u00f3s a introdu\u00e7\u00e3o, os planeadores de produtos da Triumph decidiram que o coup\u00e9 seria um excelente complemento ao alinhamento. Ao mesmo tempo, a empresa iniciou o programa de corridas com Spitfires modificados com um topo de corrida de retorno r\u00e1pido chamado GT4. No entanto, os engenheiros da Triumph perceberam que a carro\u00e7aria do coup\u00e9 era mais pesada do que a do roadster e que o novo modelo precisaria de um motor mais potente. O Triumph GT6 enfatizava o car\u00e1cter adulto, as capacidades do Gran Turismo, e o motor de seis cilindros, que era o maior ponto de venda. Com 95 cv na torneira e um corpo que pesava 1.900 libras (850 kg), o GT6 era suficientemente din\u00e2mico para captar a aten\u00e7\u00e3o dos compradores e da imprensa autom\u00f3vel.  <b>O GT6 era mais caro que o Spitfire, mas era tamb\u00e9m mais luxuoso, mais espa\u00e7oso, e mais r\u00e1pido, o que justificava o pre\u00e7o.  <\/b>O departamento de marketing da Triumph utilizou o sucesso de Le Mans para promover o seu desempenho; embora o GT6 n\u00e3o tivesse nada a ver com o programa de corridas GT4, a acrobacia funcionou. At\u00e9 lan\u00e7aram um apelido semi-oficial, &#8220;O tipo E do pobre homem&#8221;, que tamb\u00e9m ficou preso por raz\u00f5es \u00f3bvias. Ambos os carros eram brit\u00e2nicos, tinham propor\u00e7\u00f5es semelhantes, e foram concebidos e movidos por motores de seis cilindros. Claro que o E-Type era mais r\u00e1pido, mas com 0 a 60 vezes em pouco mais de 10 segundos, o GT6 Mk1 foi considerado din\u00e2mico pelos padr\u00f5es do dia. No entanto, a imprensa autom\u00f3vel criticou o desenho do eixo oscilante emprestado \u00e0 Spitfire. A empresa abordou as cr\u00edticas com a suspens\u00e3o traseira fortemente revista, que proporcionou um controlo muito melhor e finalmente forneceu ao GT6 a estabilidade de que necessitava para ser competitivo. <b>O desenho foi melhorado com uma nova extremidade dianteira e traseira, p\u00e1ra-choques diferentes, e detalhes, semelhantes ao Spitfire<\/b>. No entanto, os engenheiros n\u00e3o esqueceram o motor. Com novas \u00e1rvores de cames, uma nova cabe\u00e7a de cilindro, e uma entrada, o cilindro de seis cilindros forneceu 104 cv. N\u00e3o muito, mas melhorou o desempenho e mesmo a economia de combust\u00edvel. Seguindo a evolu\u00e7\u00e3o do design do Spitfire, o GT6 ganhou um p\u00e1ra-choques mais moderno, luzes traseiras, caracter\u00edsticas interiores, e at\u00e9 uma afina\u00e7\u00e3o da suspens\u00e3o traseira.
