Elle pr\u00e9sentait un ch\u00e2ssis am\u00e9lior\u00e9 avec une suspension avant ind\u00e9pendante (encore une nouveaut\u00e9 \u00e0 la fin des ann\u00e9es 30) et un puissant mod\u00e8le \u00e0 six cylindres en ligne de 4,0 litres.  <strong>Ce moteur produisait 105 ch et pouvait pousser la T150 standard \u00e0 une vitesse respectable de 85 mph gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une transmission manuelle \u00e0 4 vitesses.<\/strong>  Le straight-six utilisait des culasses Hemi qui offraient un meilleur d\u00e9bit, un r\u00e9gime plus \u00e9lev\u00e9 et plus de puissance que les culasses standard. De telles performances ont fait froncer quelques sourcils dans l&#8217;industrie automobile, et le Talbot Lago \u00e9tait consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme l&#8217;un des mod\u00e8les les plus excitants. Les voitures ont connu un certain succ\u00e8s, ont remport\u00e9 plusieurs courses importantes et ont obtenu de bons r\u00e9sultats au Mans. je<strong>Il est int\u00e9ressant de noter que Talbot Lago a remport\u00e9 les 24 heures du Mans en 1950 avec une voiture vaguement bas\u00e9e sur le ch\u00e2ssis T150 et avec un moteur agrandi.<\/strong>  Parmi les propri\u00e9taires de voitures de sport, la Talbot Lago a \u00e9t\u00e9 bien accueillie parce qu&#8217;elle avait une carrosserie l\u00e9g\u00e8re et un moteur qui pouvait \u00eatre command\u00e9 avec jusqu&#8217;\u00e0 140 ch, poussant la vitesse de pointe \u00e0 plus de 100 mph. La version SS \u00e9tait bas\u00e9e sur la T150 ordinaire mais \u00e9tait plus exclusive, plus ch\u00e8re et plus rapide. Les ing\u00e9nieurs de Lago ont r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 extraire jusqu&#8217;\u00e0 200 ch du six cylindres de 4,0 litres de t\u00eate Hemi, ce qui \u00e9tait consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme une puissance folle. Bien s\u00fbr, les freins ont \u00e9t\u00e9 am\u00e9lior\u00e9s, mais la bo\u00eete manuelle \u00e0 4 vitesses de s\u00e9rie a \u00e9t\u00e9 conserv\u00e9e. Le prix de base de la T150 SS \u00e9tait de plus de 78 000 francs, ce qui la pla\u00e7ait directement face \u00e0 des voitures comme l&#8217;Alfa Romeo 8C 2900 et la Bugatti 57S.
