Bien qu&#8217;elle soit un peu oubli\u00e9e par les grands collectionneurs, la Triumph GT6 est dot\u00e9e d&#8217;un \u00e9l\u00e9gant moteur \u00e0 six cylindres en ligne et d&#8217;une carrosserie l\u00e9g\u00e8re, promettant une exp\u00e9rience de conduite inoubliable. Voici pourquoi ce superbe coup\u00e9 devrait \u00eatre mieux connu et pourquoi ses prix ne cessent d&#8217;augmenter.  <\/p>\n<p>La Triumph Motor Company \u00e9tait l&#8217;une des marques de performance britanniques les plus connues dans les ann\u00e9es 60, avec une gamme de plusieurs mod\u00e8les de roadster et de berlines sportives \u00e0 deux et quatre portes. En 1962, Triumph a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 la Spitfire, un \u00e9l\u00e9gant roadster \u00e0 deux portes qui est rest\u00e9 en production pendant pr\u00e8s de 20 ans et a d\u00e9fini son segment, se vendant en masse et des deux c\u00f4t\u00e9s de l&#8217;oc\u00e9an.  <b>Le Spitfire avait une construction simple mais efficace et s&#8217;est av\u00e9r\u00e9 \u00eatre une base solide pour une voiture de course<\/b>. Cependant, imm\u00e9diatement apr\u00e8s l&#8217;introduction, les planificateurs de produits de Triumph ont d\u00e9cid\u00e9 que le coup\u00e9 serait un excellent ajout \u00e0 la gamme. \u00c0 la m\u00eame \u00e9poque, la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 a lanc\u00e9 un programme de course avec des Spitfire modifi\u00e9s avec un toit fastback appel\u00e9 GT4. Cependant, les ing\u00e9nieurs de Triumph ont r\u00e9alis\u00e9 que la carrosserie du coup\u00e9 \u00e9tait plus lourde que celle du roadster et que le nouveau mod\u00e8le aurait besoin d&#8217;un moteur plus puissant. La Triumph GT6 mettait l&#8217;accent sur le caract\u00e8re adulte, les capacit\u00e9s Gran Turismo et le moteur six cylindres, qui \u00e9tait le principal argument de vente. Avec une puissance de 95 ch et une carrosserie pesant 850 kg, la GT6 \u00e9tait suffisamment dynamique pour attirer l&#8217;attention des acheteurs et de la presse automobile.  <b>La GT6 \u00e9tait plus ch\u00e8re que la Spitfire, mais elle \u00e9tait aussi plus luxueuse, plus spacieuse et plus rapide, ce qui justifiait son prix.  <\/b>Le d\u00e9partement marketing de Triumph a utilis\u00e9 le succ\u00e8s au Mans pour promouvoir ses performances ; m\u00eame si la GT6 n&#8217;avait rien \u00e0 voir avec le programme de course GT4, le coup d&#8217;\u00e9clat a fonctionn\u00e9. Ils ont m\u00eame lanc\u00e9 un surnom semi-officiel, &#8220;la Type E du pauvre&#8221;, qui est \u00e9galement rest\u00e9 pour des raisons \u00e9videntes. Les deux voitures \u00e9taient britanniques, avaient des proportions similaires, et \u00e9taient con\u00e7ues et propuls\u00e9es par des moteurs \u00e0 six cylindres. Bien s\u00fbr, la Type E \u00e9tait plus rapide, mais avec un temps de 0 \u00e0 60 en un peu plus de 10 secondes, la GT6 Mk1 \u00e9tait consid\u00e9r\u00e9e comme dynamique selon les normes de l&#8217;\u00e9poque. Cependant, la presse automobile a critiqu\u00e9 le design de l&#8217;essieu oscillant emprunt\u00e9 \u00e0 la Spitfire. La soci\u00e9t\u00e9 a r\u00e9pondu aux critiques concernant la tenue de route avec une suspension arri\u00e8re fortement r\u00e9vis\u00e9e, qui offrait un bien meilleur contr\u00f4le et donnait enfin \u00e0 la GT6 la stabilit\u00e9 dont elle avait besoin pour \u00eatre comp\u00e9titive. Le <b>design a \u00e9t\u00e9 am\u00e9lior\u00e9 avec une nouvelle partie avant et arri\u00e8re, des pare-chocs diff\u00e9rents, et des d\u00e9tails, similaires \u00e0 ceux de la Spitfire<\/b>. Cependant, les ing\u00e9nieurs n&#8217;ont pas oubli\u00e9 le moteur. Avec de nouveaux arbres \u00e0 cames, une nouvelle culasse et une nouvelle admission, le six cylindres d\u00e9livrait 104 ch. Pas beaucoup, mais cela a am\u00e9lior\u00e9 les performances et m\u00eame les \u00e9conomies de carburant. Suivant l&#8217;\u00e9volution du design de la Spitfire, la GT6 a re\u00e7u un pare-chocs, des feux arri\u00e8re, des caract\u00e9ristiques int\u00e9rieures et m\u00eame une modification de la suspension arri\u00e8re plus modernes. La puissance est rest\u00e9e au m\u00eame niveau, mais la GT6 Mk III avait une vitesse de pointe plus \u00e9lev\u00e9e gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un a\u00e9rodynamisme am\u00e9lior\u00e9. Cependant, bien qu&#8217;elle ait gagn\u00e9 en comp\u00e9tence et en maturit\u00e9, Triumph a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de supprimer ce mod\u00e8le en 1973.
