Suunniteltu olemaan yht\u00e4 lailla kotonaan kilparadalla kuin Autostradalla, 250 GT SWB yhdisti t\u00e4ydellisesti merkin tarinankerronnan, upean muotoilun ja Colombon samannimisen 3,0-litraisen V12-moottorin fantastisen jyrin\u00e4n.<\/p>\n<p>50-luvun lopulla Ferrari oli tunnistettava superautomerkki, jolla oli kaksi erilaista mallia. Toinen oli Le Mansin ja Formula 1 -mestaruussarjoja hallitsevia kilpa-autoja, ja toinen oli varakkaille asiakkaille suunniteltuja GT-kupeereja ja avoautoja.  <strong>Ei ollut mik\u00e4\u00e4n salaisuus, ett\u00e4 Enzo Ferrari halusi ajaa kilpaa kaikissa sarjoissa, ja kun h\u00e4n tajusi, ett\u00e4 jotkut h\u00e4nen asiakkaistaan halusivat tieliikenteeseen kelpaavan kilpa-auton, h\u00e4n oli enemm\u00e4n kuin innoissaan tarjotessaan sit\u00e4 heille.<\/strong>  Noihin aikoihin GT-kilpailut alkoivat nousta yhdeksi j\u00e4nnitt\u00e4vimmist\u00e4 mestaruuksista, joihin osallistui urheiluautoja sellaisilta merkeilt\u00e4 kuin Maserati, Jaguar ja Aston Martin. Bizzarinni ja h\u00e4nen kaverinsa ymm\u00e4rsiv\u00e4t, ett\u00e4 vakioalusta on liian pitk\u00e4 ketter\u00e4lle kilpa-autolle ja ett\u00e4 kevyt kori oli tarpeen painon pit\u00e4miseksi alhaisena ja suorituskyvyn parantamiseksi.  <strong>Niinp\u00e4 250 GT coupen pohjaratkaisua lyhennettiin 20 cm ja akseliv\u00e4li\u00e4 lyhennettiin 2600 mm:st\u00e4 2400 mm:iin<\/strong>. Se oli raju muutos, mutta se kannatti, sill\u00e4 uusi malli oli paitsi ketter\u00e4mpi ja kompaktimpi my\u00f6s kevyempi ja vakaampi. Enzo ei halunnut investoida itsen\u00e4iseen asennukseen, joka ep\u00e4ilem\u00e4tt\u00e4 parantaisi kaarreajokyky\u00e4, joten tiimin oli muutettava nykyist\u00e4 rakennetta, jotta auton k\u00e4sitelt\u00e4vyys paranisi.
