Need olid sellised autod nagu revolutsiooniline Mini v\u00f5i \u00fclipopulaarne Ford Cortina, mille m\u00f5ju autot\u00f6\u00f6stusele oli tohutu.  <strong>Kuid paljud Briti tootjad said k\u00f5ige tuntumaks oma sportlike, agiilsete roadsterite poolest, mille nad on omandanud ja t\u00e4iuslikuks muutnud.<\/strong>  Edukate modellide pikk nimekiri on t\u00e4is ikoonilisi nimesid ning v\u00f5imatu on vaid m\u00f5nda neist v\u00e4lja tuua. M\u00f5ned neist autodest avaldasid siiski teistest suuremat m\u00f5ju, n\u00e4iteks MG TD oli \u00fcks selline s\u00f5iduk. Ja selles artiklis uurime seda roadsterit ja vaatame, miks see nii on.<\/p><p> <\/p><h2>Mis on roadster?<\/h2><p>Roadsteri kui kontseptsiooni juured ulatuvad 20. sajandi algusesse, kui autosport hakkas levima. Nagu t\u00e4nap\u00e4evalgi, on auto kiiremaks muutmise v\u00f5imalused h\u00f5lmanud mootori v\u00f5imsuse suurendamist ja kaalu v\u00e4hendamist. <strong>Tollal olid k\u00f5ik s\u00f5idukid kerep\u00f5hised ja enamik omanikke eemaldas lihtsalt k\u00f5ik kerepaneelid<\/strong>. Saadud autod, millel olid ainult istmed ja mehaaniline alus, said peagi tuntuks kui speedsterid. Kuna need omatehtud v\u00f5idus\u00f5iduautod muutusid kiiresti populaarseks, hakkasid tootjad pakkuma selleks otstarbeks valmis mudeleid.  <\/p><p>Kuid kui j\u00e4rgnevatel aastatel kasvas s\u00f5idukite arv liikluses, hakkasid valitsused neile mitmesuguseid ohutusn\u00f5udeid kehtestama.  <strong>Selle loo jaoks oli k\u00f5ige olulisem, et oleks vaja selliseid asju nagu kaitserauad v\u00f5i kapuuts.<\/strong>  Et roadsterid j\u00e4\u00e4ksid maantee-\u00f5iguslikuks, paigaldasid tootjad ja omanikud neile tagasi m\u00f5ned kerepaneelid. Aga et kaalu madalal hoida, paigaldasid nad ainult seadusega etten\u00e4htud olulised asjad. Sellest tulenevalt s\u00fcndis t\u00e4iesti uus autode liik &#8211; roadsterid. M\u00f5ned kliendid kartsid, et pikkuse ja laiuse suurenemine v\u00f5ib m\u00f5jutada s\u00f5iduomadusi ja juhitavust.<\/p><p>Seestpoolt oli TD-l nahaga kaetud pink ja suur terasest ja puidust valmistatud rooliratas. Kerget roadsteri retsepti j\u00e4rgides ei olnud autol mingeid \u00fcleliigseid funktsioone.  <strong>M\u00f5nda omanikku h\u00e4iris see nappus, n\u00e4iteks temperatuuri v\u00f5i k\u00fctusen\u00e4idiku puudumine.<\/strong>  Selle armatuurlaual oli siiski p\u00f6\u00f6rete loendur, mis oli tol ajal v\u00e4ga haruldane instrument. Seda muidugi seet\u00f5ttu, et mootori p\u00f6\u00f6rlemiskiirus on sportliku auto juhi jaoks k\u00f5ige olulisem teave. Nagu k\u00f5ik teisedki roadsterid, pakkus ka MG TD vaid tagasihoidlikku ilmastikukaitset, mis seisnes eemaldatavas pehmest kangast katuses.<\/p><p> <\/p><h2>MG TD mehaanika taga<\/h2><p>Kuigi TD n\u00e4gi v\u00e4lja sarnane asendatava TC mudeliga, olid need kaks t\u00e4iesti erinevat autot. Sisuliselt p\u00f5hines uus auto MG Y-type 4-ukselise sedaani \u0161assiil. <strong>See oli uus mudel, mis pakkus mitmeid tehnilisi uuendusi ja t\u00e4iustusi<\/strong>. Esiteks oli sellel s\u00f5ltumatu esivedrustus, millel oli vedrustuse asemel spiraalvedrud. Lisaks sellele vahetas traditsiooniline roolikast v\u00e4lja hammasratta ja roolimehhanismi s\u00fcsteemi, mis muutis p\u00f6\u00f6rlemise palju teravamaks. K\u00f5ik need t\u00e4iustused m\u00f5jutasid oluliselt auto s\u00f5iduomadusi maanteel. Esimeste testide ja esimeste klientide tagasiside p\u00f5hjal pakkus see palju paremat s\u00f5idu kvaliteeti ja \u00fcldist juhitavust kui selle eelk\u00e4ijad. Oli olemas ka k\u00f5rgelt tuunitud versioon, mis arendas 57 hobuj\u00f5udu, kuigi see ei olnud \u00dchendkuningriigis saadaval. Kuna need ei ole sugugi hingematvad numbrid, ei olnud TD tulemuslikkus hiilgav. N\u00e4iteks oli selle tippkiirus 74 miili tunnis ja aeg 0-60 v\u00f5ttis peaaegu 20 sekundit. T\u00e4nu t\u00e4iustatud juhtimisele ja vedrustusele sai juht siiski kurvides palju kiirust sisse viia. Seet\u00f5ttu v\u00f5is MG TD olla kurvilistel teedel kiirem kui palju v\u00f5imsamad autod.  <\/p><p> <\/p><h2>Miks said sellised roadsterid nagu MG TD nii populaarseks?<\/h2><p>40ndate aastate l\u00f5pus oli kogu Euroopa alles taastumas pikast ja piinarikkast s\u00f5jast. Eriti raske oli olukord \u00dchendkuningriigis, kus toiduratsioonid m\u00f5jutasid paljude h\u00e4davajalike kaupade, sealhulgas k\u00fctuse ja tooraine k\u00e4ttesaadavust. Seet\u00f5ttu ei saanud autotootjad endale lubada uute, spetsiaalselt loodud mudelite projekteerimist ja ehitamist nullist.  <strong>See j\u00e4ttis roadsteri ainukeseks eluj\u00f5uliseks ja teostatavaks s\u00f5idukivormiks.<\/strong>  Juba enne s\u00f5da kasutati nende sportlike autode valmistamisel tavaliselt teiste suure tootmismahu mudelite \u0161assiid ja mehaanikat. Ja aastate jooksul \u00fcritasid nad neid autosid veelgi konkurentsiv\u00f5imelisemaks muuta, parandades seda, mida suudeti.  <strong>See h\u00f5lmas tavaliselt erinevate karburaatorite paigaldamist, vedrustuse kohandamist ja pidurite t\u00e4iustamist.<\/strong>  Aja jooksul omandasid briti insenerid selle oskuse nii h\u00e4sti, et nende valmistatud autod muutusid ideaalselt tasakaalustatud roadsteri s\u00fcnon\u00fc\u00fcmiks. J\u00e4rgnevatel aastak\u00fcmnetel domineerisid selles autosegmendis \u00dchendkuningriigi autotootjate, sealhulgas MG, ehitatud roadsterid. Kuid 80ndate alguseks langes nende s\u00f5idukite m\u00fc\u00fck m\u00e4rkimisv\u00e4\u00e4rselt ja enamik autotootjaid hakkas oma klassikalisi roadstereid h\u00e4vitama. Sel hetkel tundus, et nende aeg on l\u00e4bi. Kuid see ei l\u00e4inud kaua aega, et t\u00f5estada, et see on vale, kui Mazda tutvustas oma legendaarset Miatat. See on siiski hoopis teine lugu.  <\/p><p> <\/p><h2>Kui palju maksab MG TD t\u00e4nap\u00e4eval?<\/h2><p>TD oli seni \u00fcks MG edukamaid mudeleid, mille kogutoodang ulatus peaaegu 30 000 mudelini. <strong>Enamik neist s\u00f5idukitest j\u00f5udis P\u00f5hja-Ameerika turule, kus neid kiideti nende agiilsuse ja s\u00f5idur\u00f5\u00f5mu eest<\/strong>.
