Det var ikke en ren sportsvogn som Alfa Romeo eller en enkel og billig bil som Fiat. Den var elegant som en Jaguar, ekstravagant som en Citro\u00ebn, luksuri\u00f8s som en Mercedes og stilfuld som et skr\u00e6ddersyet Brioni-s\u00e6t. Lancia Aurelia, der blev introduceret lige efter krigen, var en perfekt personificering af dets etik, og Aurelia B24 Spider, som nok er den mest eftertragtede version, symboliserede dette m\u00e6rke. Her er historien om denne fantastiske roadster.<\/p>\n<p>Selv om Lancia var blandt de mest luksuri\u00f8se italienske m\u00e6rker f\u00f8r krigen, bragte befrielsen en ny virkelighed for dette m\u00e6rke. <strong>Luksusmarkedet var v\u00e6k, og Italien havde knap nok r\u00e5d til at k\u00f8be Fiat 500&#8217;ere<\/strong>. Lancia var ikke engang en del af Marshallplanen og modtog aldrig nogen \u00f8konomisk hj\u00e6lp efter krigen, som andre italienske bilfirmaer gjorde. Gianni Lancia befandt sig i en temmelig vanskelig situation. Det nuv\u00e6rende produktsortiment var for\u00e6ldet, hjemmemarkedet var svagt, og der var ikke penge nok til at udvikle helt nye modeller. Men p\u00e5 grund af hans venskab med Vittorio Jano (senere ber\u00f8mt for Ferrari) begyndte Lancia at arbejde p\u00e5 en ny model med sp\u00e6ndende funktioner. Lancia var en af de mest innovative virksomheder dengang, og hver model introducerede noget nyt og revolutionerende. Med blok og hoveder i aluminium havde den en 60 graders vinkel mellem cylinderbankerne, en enkelt knastaksel og Hemi-forbr\u00e6ndingskamre, hvilket bidrog til at opn\u00e5 mere kraft og h\u00f8jere omdrejninger. Udviklingen af motoren var afsluttet i slutningen af 40&#8217;erne, lige i tide til at blive sat i en ny Lancia-model.<\/p>\n<p>Lancia Aurelia debuterede i 1950 og forbl\u00f8ffede straks det globale bilpublikum. Ikke alene var den meget moderne designet og den f\u00f8rste i verden med en V6-motor, men den havde ogs\u00e5 et par overraskelser mere i \u00e6rmet. <strong>Den havde en halv\u00e5benh\u00e6ngig baghjulsaffjedring med en bagmonteret transakselgearkasse og indvendige tromlebremser for at reducere den uaffjedrede v\u00e6gt<\/strong>. Dette layout sikrede den ideelle v\u00e6gtfordeling, neutral h\u00e5ndtering, fantastisk k\u00f8rselsdynamik og radiald\u00e6k som standard (endnu en nyhed i verden). De tidlige modeller blev kaldt B10, og de var alle sedaner (Berlinas) med en 1,8-liters V6-motor og 75 hk. Markedet reagerede begejstret, og Lancias satsning gav pote med masser af ordrer over hele verden. I 1951 blev den smukke Lancia Aurelia B20 Coup\u00e9 introduceret, som blev kaldt den f\u00f8rste pr\u00e6cise Grand Turismo-model nogensinde. Den havde en 2,0-liters motor med 80 hk, en lavere taglinje og to d\u00f8re. Sammenlignet med resten af 1951-modellerne var Aurelia utroligt avanceret p\u00e5 alle m\u00e5der. I l\u00f8bet af \u00e5rene lavede Lancia seks forskellige modelserier, som alle adskiller sig fra hinanden med detaljer, karrosseristil og mekaniske forbedringer. P\u00e5 den tid var Lancia et meget lille firma og havde ikke kapacitet til at producere sine egne karrosserier, s\u00e5 hver karrosseriform blev faktisk produceret af forskellige carrozzerier. Til sammenligning var den dyrere end Chevrolet Corvette eller Jaguar XK120, men et par dollars billigere end Aston Martin DB2. P\u00e5 trods af de rosende anmeldelser fra tidskrifternes testere i perioden besluttede Lancia at lukke produktionen af denne model efter kun halvandet \u00e5r p\u00e5 markedet og 241 fremstillede biler. Selv om Lancia afskaffede B24 Spider af omkostningsm\u00e6ssige \u00e5rsager, havde kunderne en anden mulighed i form af Lancia B24 Convertible, en mere konventionel, men lige s\u00e5 elegant og smuk roadster.  <strong>Forskellen mellem B24 Spider og B24 Cabriolet er mest kosmetisk, og Cabriolet har forskellige kofangere og en formel forrude.<\/strong>  Den var noget billigere og solgte flere eksemplarer, men den var ikke den bestseller, som Lancia havde h\u00e5bet p\u00e5. B24 Cabriolet blev produceret fra 1956 til 1958, og der blev fremstillet 521 biler.
